The reason a fold lands where it should
The brake overbends
Steel is elastic before it is plastic. Stop the ram on the angle you want and the part opens as soon as the load comes off. So we take it 3.8° past the drawing and let it come back.

Above about 900 °C there is no elastic recovery left to give back, so the punch angle is the finished angle. The right-hand press is the same drawing at 950 °C: scroll it and nothing moves when the ram lifts.

How a job runs
Six stages, 15 working days from an approved drawing to steel on your site.
- 01 Drawing You send a drawing, a sketch or a sample. We mark up what is unclear and price it.
- 02 Approval Fabrication drawings back to you for signature. Nothing is cut before that comes back.
- 03 Cut and form Profiled, sawn, drilled and folded. Every part carries its mark and its cast number.
- 04 Weld and inspect Welded to procedure, then checked against the drawing before it leaves the bay.
- 05 Finish Blasted and primed, or sent out for galvanising on a fixed three-day turn.
- 06 Deliver On our own wagon inside the North West, on a hiab where the site has no crane.
